I am all for responsible reporting on the public airwaves! Those that use the airwaves to deliberately and repeatedly use fabrications that are not true, are dangerous to the public safety and to the constitution that is supposed to guarantee our rights of free speech. Americans have free speech rights, … but not the freedom to shout “FIRE!” when their is no fire, inside a crowded theatre!
The irresponsable reporting by the likes of “Glenn Beck” creates a “mob” mentality! A mob mentality that can and will (according to history) incite to violence, those that are portrayed as different from that of the mob!
Let’s face it! There are those in america that are looking forward to inciting a “RACE WAR,” and are using the public air waves and the fact of a black president to incite mobs to act violently against the government of the USA!
You have to be blind to not recognize the conservative movement direction toward insurection of a pluralistic and multi-cultural america and instituting in it’s place what existed in our racist fundamentalist bigoted past!
All of this backward movement toward our unenlightened past is being done in the name of fighting “COMMUNISM!

@Despicable: Hi and welcome to my blog.

I disagree at large with your post. Americans have the right to free speech. This is to include the right to yell “fire” in a theater. However, with the freedom of speech carries the burden of responsibility. If you yell “fire,” that is your prerogative but you may have to pay the consequences of doing that. When you say that we have free speech rights but dont have the freedom to say things, that makes no sense in my opinion.

I am not sure what you are talking about with irresponsible reporting by the likes of Glenn Beck either. What specifically is it that Beck is reporting on that is irresponsible and/or false?

Mob mentality? What are you talking about? Does Glenn Beck not encourage ALL political idealogies to get involved? I am not seeing how he is making a “mob” when he is encouraging ALL americans to get involved? How do you figure he is making a mob and who exactly is in this mob? Furthermore, do you believe that is is wrong for these individuals to get involved, even if it is Beck who is the encouragement?

Race war? What race war? The only people I hear talking about race are people on the left side of the political spectrum. I generally think you misunderstand why people on the right dislike Obama – it isn’t because he is black, it is because we do not like his political policies/ideologies. Period. If you are still referring to Beck and him inciting racist hate, then I’d be glad to hear why you feel this way.

Blind of WHAT? I am not even sure of what that sentence means that you typed in the last paragraph but I will take a stab at it. You believe that Conservatives wish to return to a racist/segregated community? Really, why? Please cite your examples, again, I’d be glad to hear your side of this.

Yeah. Communism. I hate it! Likewise, I hate Socialism. They are of the same. But me hating Communism/Socialism has nothing to do with race as you insinuate. Again, please do explain.

@Despicable: Also, why did you post this tirade on this post? This post is about me donating to a cause because I am a Conservative and I believe it is my personal responsibility to donate to causes to make the world better (versus having the government take it from me via taxes and determining what causes are worthy).

Government is not the enemy! Only government has the resources to do what is necessary to correct the abusss of a market economy that goes beserk because of no or little oversite of the private sector’s mad and illogical pursuit of the all mighty dollar without conscience or concern as to what the consequences would be to the public at large.
Through out the ages owners of private property has exploited and taken advantage of people that were not the landed aristocracy, but rather slaves, feudal serfs, workers, technicians, and artists,
Only the public sector can protect those that create the wealth of society from those that are members of the private sector!

@Despicable: You are right, government is not the enemy – too much government is the enemy.

Only the government has the resources to do what is necessary to correct the [abuses] of a market economy? First off, this is a loaded statement – what resources do they have and what are the abuses you allude to?

Little or no oversite? What makes you say that?

Mad and illogical pursuit of the all mighty dollar? OK. So what is your point? What is so mad and illogical about working hard to make or do something better than the next person and being rewarded for it? But hey, since you mentioned the consequences of the public – I would like to take a moment and remind you that you are able to talk to me now because people throughout history have worked to bring you and improve electricity, computers, microprocessors, plastics, optics, data/communication lines, annnndddd…. prices have dropped on all these services and you get more now than you did before… All thanks to people who were concerned with bettering themselves and their businesses first and foremost.

Owners of private property have exploited and taken advantage of people who were not aristocrats. Really? Can you please tell me where you live, I am going to come take whatever you sleep on – after all, if you don’t believe in property rights then you should have no problem giving up whatever you sleep on right? If I am wrong, and you think it is wrong for me to take your bed, then please let me know.

I look forward to your answers.

I noticed that despicable posted the same stuff on NYD. It’s amazing how he blames private property owners for all of the ills of the world. I guess that includes us home owners. I always wondered where all of the bolsheviks went after the USSR collapsed. I see they are all on the internet, except for the ones running Washington right now.

    @Alan Scott:
If despicable is close by, I am going to drive over to his house and take his bed since he doesn’t believe in property rights. We will see if he really believes in what he says or if he is just a hypocrite.

If he is over on your side of the country, would you be so kind as to go take his bed when he gives it up?

Some concepts are difficult for people that are illiterate in the ways of the way the world works, to grasp!
It does not take a genius to figure out that your formal education is seriously lacking and that your world view is limited because of your lack of knowledge about the subjects that you profess to know so much about!
Most people that are aware of world history and the challenges that every generation faces are knowledgeable about social structure and historical change.
For example when I mention “private property” it is common knowledge that I am not talking about my “personal property” like my “BED!”
Every knowledgeable person knows that when I mention “PRIVATE PROPERTY” I am speaking about property that is owned for the purpose of making a profit by hiring for a wage and having those that are wage earners create new value that is below the value that the workers recieved in the form of a wage, Buying cheap labor and selling what workers created or produced for a price higher than the cost of labor is what most people understand is the exploitation of workers by the owners of “private property!” I thought everyone knew that!
Historically “Slaves were the private property of slave owners and were exploited so that the owners of plantations could get rich off of slave labor! Share croppers were exploited by large land owners by exploiting the share croppers ability to work on their large plantation for the small plot of land that they were given so that they can subsist and survive and be able to work another day for their large land owner!
Workers in factorys, Mines, Mills and Shops. Professionals, Technologists, everyone that sells their ability to work to a private property owner is hired help that is hired because he or she can become a source of profit to the owner of private property!
The reason that you have “Labor Unions” throughout the world is because it is the only way that people that work for a living can get a larger share of the “Gross National Product!” The reason why you have Socialists in the world is because you have exploitation of Wage Earners in the world! The reason why you have Communists in the world, is because of the system of Capitalism!

This is a rare treat. He is even more fun than MG. No equivocation, a true believer. I would be happy to take his bed and donate it to a charity if he is on the east coast.

I will be more than happy to discuss history with you. If you are not afraid to defend your ideas against us poor illiterate conservatives. You should have no trouble holding your own since it’s obvious that your formal education is far superior to anyone else here.

Here is something to think about. We are descendants of English colonies. In the Spanish colonies there was more of a class structure where the poor could not rise. People came from colonial times to the present to the English colonies and then to the United States because you could rise from the lower classes to own property owner middle class and ultimately to evil rich guy capitalist pig dog.

@Despicable: You are playing word games here with this private property bit (no surprise there).

I may be stupid and illiterate as you say, but at least I can use a dictionary. Let’s take a look at what the dictionary says about “private property.”

private property (link): Tangible and intangible things owned by individuals or firms over which their owners have exclusive and absolute legal rights, such as land, buildings, money, copyrights, patents, etc. Private property can be transferred only with its owner’s consent, and by due process such as sale or gift.

So when you say “every knowledgeable person…” what you really mean is every Marxist because Marxists differentiate between “private property” and “personal property.” I am not a Marxist so I would not know this. I figured since you were not illiterate that you would at least know your audience.

I will admit that your description is rather confusing and plagued with grammatical errors. I expected more from someone who writes for a living. But hey, I will try to make the best of your description of private property.

So private property is something that is owned and used to make a profit. You state that a bed cannot be private property. Well, what about a prostitutes bed? It is her own personal bed, but she is also using it to make a profit. So what is it then?

What about gold? Gold can be used in manufacturing so that is going to be owned by the public. Well, what if I want to own a ring for my wife? Is her ring going to be owned by the public or are we going to make exceptions to every rule? Platinum? Copper? How about diswashers? Some people use their diswashers to run a business but other people use it for personal use. So are we going to have some dishwashers that are publically owned and others that are owned by private citizens? What if I wash my privately owned dishes in a public dishwasher?

I am sorry for my weird questions, but what I am gathering seems so far-fetched that you are going to have to come back here and explain in “retarded” terms to me how this all works.

The reason that you have “Labor Unions” throughout the world is because it is the only way that people that work for a living can get a larger share of the “Gross National Product!”

Ah yes, the pie slice, fallacy.

The reason why you have Socialists in the world is because you have exploitation of Wage Earners in the world!

I actually think we have Socialists in the world is because politicians have learned that they can buy votes with the federal coffer.

The reason why you have Communists in the world, is because of the system of Capitalism!

I believe we have Communism because there is an idea that the world can be a utopia if we just force it against natural human nature.
